FAQ

Questions, answered before you even ask.

What do I need to connect?

A Shopify store and a Discogs seller account. Connect Shopify first, then Discogs, both from the dashboard. No code, no CSV files, nothing to install in your shop.

Which side owns what?

Shopify owns the price, converted daily at the current rate. Discogs owns the condition grades. Stock counts on both: sold anywhere means gone everywhere. New records travel in both directions.

How often does it sync?

A change on Shopify reaches Discogs within seconds: Shopify tells us the moment it happens and we act on it without re-reading your whole Discogs inventory. A change made on Discogs waits for the schedule you choose in Settings, because Discogs tells us nothing and has to be asked: hourly by default, or every 6 hours or once a day if that suits your stock better, and every 15 minutes on Pro and up. Sync now skips the wait whatever you picked.

What happens when a record sells on Discogs?

Within the hour the Shopify product is archived, or drafted if you prefer, so nobody can buy it twice. The Discogs order lands in Shopify as a paid order. Relist on Discogs later and the product comes back.

What does the price markup do?

Covers Discogs' cut: Discogs keeps 9% of every sale, plus payment fees. Your Shopify price is the base; the listing asks that plus the markup, and a product created from a listing is priced at the base, so it never stacks up over repeated syncs.

What counts against my plan's item limit?

The copies you keep in sync (your selection): each Discogs listing is one item, so three copies of one record are three items. Free covers 100 items, Starter 500, Growth 1,000, Pro 2,500, Scale 6,000 and Dealer 20,000. Bigger than that, get in touch and we will price it.

What is the monthly order limit?

How many Discogs orders your plan is sized to mirror into Shopify in a rolling 30 days: 15 on Free, 75 Starter, 150 Growth, 400 Pro, 1,000 Scale, 3,000 Dealer. It is a soft limit. We never stop importing orders and we never drop one, because a busy week is the worst possible time to break your sync. Go past it and we simply point out that a bigger plan matches what you are selling.

Why does my whole Discogs crate count, not just what I sync?

Because we watch all of it. Discogs has no way to tell us only what changed, so every hour we read your entire inventory: that is the only thing that catches a record you sold in the shop and marked as gone on Discogs, where no order exists for us to see. That work is the same whether you sync ten records or ten thousand, so each plan states the crate size it covers: 500 on Free, 2,500 Starter, 5,000 Growth, 12,500 Pro, 30,000 Scale, 100,000 Dealer. Like the order allowance it is soft, five times the item cap, and syncing a slice of a big crate is a perfectly normal thing to do.
